Section I introduces you to some of the basic concepts that have lead to the creation of the fitness potential model, a conceptual framework for optimizing one's ability to learn the elements of fitness, understand them, and use them to evaluate, develop, and maintain desirable levels of fitness. It includes five areas of consideration that serves as the foundation of the fitness potential model. Careful consideration of the ideas presented in this section will facilitate gains in one's ability to comprehend the concepts presented in the fitness potential model: Fitness in the U.S., Exercise Science, Fitness Activities, Fitness Potential, and Fitness Training.
One of the first objectives required for an understanding of fitness and how to control it is the meaning of fitness. Without such knowledge, a thorough comprehension of fitness cannot be accomplished. This section embraces concepts related to five topics that have contributed to the development of the fitness potential model: fitness in the United States, exercise science, fitness activities, fitness potential, and fitness training. Knowledge of these important topics can facilitate the acquisition of an in depth understanding of the elements that the fitness potential model encompasses.
