So a little about me, well I have been the Technical Theater Manager or "TD" at TSU for 6 years. I have designed and built all of the sets and lighting for the Department of Communications productions and the Music Departments Opera.

I have a BFA in Technical Theater at the University of Toledo, graduated in 1984 with an emphasis in Lighting and Sound.

I have been doing professional theater across the world with some of the best known theaters and companies since 1984; such as the Walnut Street Theater, George Street Playhouse, GeVa Theater, Mill Mountain Theater and the Tennessee Repertory Theater to name a few.

Then I got burned out.  Hey it happens so I took a break for a few years and taught technical theater at Colgate University.

Academia was getting a bit too restrictive so I returned to the professional world and became the Lighting Designer for Opryland Productions at Gaylord Entertainment where I designed lights for many of Country Music's biggest stars, Johnny Cash, Trisha Yearwood, Lorrie Morgan, Faith Hill, Tanya Tucker and Garth Brooks are some of the over 60 stars I designed lights for.  I was also responsible for every show in the park from the summer, to the great haunted houses and the Christmas shows.

While with Gaylord, I had the extreme pleasure to design lighting for several cruise ships in the Celebrity and Royal Caribbean Cruise line fleets.  I got to meet Dick Clark and did a show with him on a production of American Bandstand Classics at the Roy Acuff Theater. I also got to do a special event at the MPI natioonal convention at the Opryland Hotel with many of the artists with the world famous Cirque du Soleil company.

Yep I have toured too.  I had the opportunity to be the Lighting Designer for the national tour of "Always Patsy Cline" with the Randy Johnson Company.

Before joining the Department as an adjunct faculty member I was a Project Manager with Barbizon Lighting, working on such projects as the Dickson Renaissance Center, WDAM TV in Hattiesburg Mississippi, City Walk at Universal Studios Orlando, and Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church in Houston Texas.

I am a member of the TTA and USITT.  For my design for the Tennessee Bicentennial in 1996 I received a Certificate of Merit from Governor Sundquist.
