YOU WILL NEED TO COMPLETE THIS KIDWATCHING ACTIVITY WITH YOUR READING BUDDY


    1. Background Information: In an introductory paragraph, describe student, grade level, age, etc, include background information obtained from the student and the student’s teachers 

    2. Interview with Student:  Interview student about his/her interests in reading and reading material, their strengths and weaknesses in reading, what makes a good reader, etc... SUMMARIZE IN PARAGRAPH AND attach interview questions and notes.   Click here for Garfield Reading Attitude Survey (K and 1st) OR a READING INTERVIEW (1st-6th)

   3. Observations: Include-Minimum of 3 Observations (15 min each) of student participating in  reading/writing/listening and speaking events) Take note of what you see: student behaviors, interactions, facial expressions, participation in lesson, # of times raises hand , etc (avoid making  interpretations-save for next section).

    4. Findings  -Summarize the above information, reflect upon, and draw preliminary conclusions from overall data gathered, discuss how you might address the reading motivation, interests, comprehension, etc.
