Thomas Parry

By Wes Weems

Thomas Parry (1515-60) was the conferrer of Elizabeth I. He was briefly questioned, along with Katherine Ashley, in conjunction with the plot to marry Elizabeth to Thomas Seymour, but was eventually released, along with Katherine Ashley, when no definite malicious criminal activity could be confirmed. In 1559, after Elizabeth I acceded to the throne, he was knighted and made comptroller of the Household. He was also in support of Robert Dudley's marriage proposal to Elizabeth. Parry served the Queen until his death.
